Harrison Daniel Truman

Our handsome boy is here!
Harrison Daniel Truman
He is a dream. We are so in love.

I can't even express the increased love I have for Ben. He was my rock through the whole thing! It was so nice having him by my side coaching me.  I am so lucky to have him in my life. He is already the best daddy. He is so gentle with Harrison. I love watching them interact with each other.

I never thought I could love someone so much. I am lucky to have two handsome boys in my life.

Thank you Citrus Co Photography for capturing this special moment!

Freshly Canned Jalapeños

This was my first attempt at canning. Surprisingly, it was very easy. I was always scared canning was going to be this huge process and that I would mess it all up. This was the perfect thing to can for my first time. Now, we will have fresh Jalapeño all year long! These are homegrown Jalapeños which makes them even more delicious.

Okay, I am going to share a little secret. I didn't seal these jars!!  I know that's not the normal routine when canning... but even without sealing the jars they will last a year! Skipping this step cut down on the time it took for the whole process. If you wanted the jalapeños to last longer than a year you would want to seal the cans. I didn't care to do that because I wanted this to be easy and quick.
All You Need:

Jalapeño (as many as you want to can)
Glass jars with lids
White Vinegar

So, what I did first was pour about 1 1/2 cups of white vinegar into a pot. You want to boil the vinegar so that it is extremely hot. While the vinegar is heating up, cut off or tear off the tops of the jalapeños. After that is done, stuff the jalapeños into the jars. Make sure there is no wiggle room. Next, use a funnel to pour the vinegar into each jar. Make sure every jalapeño is covered with the vinegar. Once this process is done put on the lids very tight. Then, let the jars sit out till they have cooled down. Once they have cooled enough place them in the fridge. Presto! That't it! You are finished! Now, each time you need a jalapeños just go in the fridge and take out your jar. Fresh Jalapeños every time!

Washington D.C.

One last trip before we have this little one! It was a little brutal being 7 months pregnant... and driving 10 hours from Nashville to Washington D.C.  BUT totally worth it!
I am so glad we got this trip in before we had a baby....Washington D.C. is not a place I would want to take a baby or even a toddler. They just would't appreciate everything there is to learn in D.C.
We were able to visit so many museums. I learned a lot about what our nation has gone through in order to be where it is today.

Of course we went to a Nationals game. I've actually really enjoyed going to baseball games in the different states we visit. I mean I might not watch the game... but I love the food!! This game was special because they had fireworks at the end for the 4th of July.

This little fan saved my life! It was the best purchase I ever made... It even had a little map which came in handy.

We were lucky enough to visit the Washington D.C. Temple. This picture doesn't even do it justice. It was beautiful. Our cousin Tiana is serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the visitor center.

This is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. If you are in D.C. this something you need to see. They change the guard every half hour which is an awesome experience to witness. There is always a soldier guarding this tomb no matter what the weather is like.

I am very proud to be an American. I am grateful for all those who have and still are sacrificing their lives so that we can be free.

ATL!

I told you about our adventurers to the baseball stadiums... well this month we were able to take a trip to Georgia to see the Braves! One more to cross off the list. I was pretty excited because we had some good friends there and we were going to make a whole trip of it.

Isn't this a pretty stadium?? I love the atmosphere... and I do try to pay attention to the game ;)

We were able to explore downtown while we were there. We even got to go to ikea!! It's the weirdest thing, Tennessee does not have an ikea. I love how cheap and cute everything is there... so obviously we had to make a stop.

The girls. We had such a great time. Can't wait for next year!

John Mayer CONCERT!! Yahh baby! We were lucky enough to fit in a John Mayer concert along with the game. All I have to say is WOW! That guy is talented. He is even better live!

This picture explains the whole trip :) Loved having us all spend time together!

Baseball Stadiums

Ben and I made a new goal to visit all the baseball stadiums in the United States. This is my way of going on a trip to a new city! We are both happy this way :)

I really love watching baseball... NOT on tv though. The atmosphere at the game is unreal and the food is always yummy!  So our plan is to choose a new stadium every year, accept this year we got to go to a couple more... and I won't complain about that. We were able to travel to California and Georgia.

Our next goal is either New York, Washington DC, Or  San Francisco... Which one should we go to??

Softball (co-ed)

Ben and I signed up to play in a co-ed softball league this year. It was so much fun! I was pretty nervous for our first game, but it turned out to be a blast. You should have seen me I was shaking like crazy and my hands were all sweaty! haha! I managed to get some runs in during the season, which was nice to be able to contribute. Ben hit some in the park home runs which really helped our team! We had a great time... I never thought I would say this... but I would do it next year!

Out West

What a great trip to Utah! So many events... we are so blessed we were able to make it to everything!
Wedding, H2O Run, and BYU Games, and Family time!

Sweet little thing was the flower girl at the wedding!!

I love this picture of Ben and Poppy! Loves her uncle

This run was a special one to me. It was for my nephew Ollie, who drowned in water. It was also for all those who have lost a loved one... they could run in their memory. I did this for Ollie and he helped me get through the run! I am so grateful for family and the chance we have to see our family again!

The family at the race! What a great day! Ollie would have loved it. There was a fire truck spraying down the runners as they crossed the line. There was music, prizes, and food!

He looks good when he runs!!
The ballon arch we at the finish line! We both did really well... 5k... 27 minutes. Not to bad for our first run. We are doing this run next year so hopefully by then we can do a lot better time!!

Kissy Face

Go Cougars!! I was a total fan and went to the game ( early) and right before the game started a miroburst came right to us. It started raining to hard! I was worn out and wet... so I went home. I should have stayed because it was one of the best games... oh well, at least Ben got to see the game :)

Gina, Kelsey and Me and the Due West concert

We are so lucky to spend time with all our family members! I am so blessed to able to spend time with those I love!

Porter Rockwell

It's been awhile since I have posted.... I have been busying with school. I am officially a UVU college GRADUATE!!! yah! What a relief to be finished. It was tough leaving Ben in Nashville, but I'm happy to be done.

Since I was in Utah for over 3 months I was able to spend some quality time with my family. I even there for my dad's debut as Porter Rockwell. I have to brag about my dad for a little! He is the most amazing man! He may look like the roughest, toughest guy in these pictures but he is quite the opposite. I am so lucky to have such a great example in my life! Today is my dad's birthday.... so this is a perfect time to brag about him winning this look-a-like competition for Porter Rockwell.
This beard is all him! He has been growing it out for sometime now. I saw a picture of him without it and I didn't even recognize him... it was really strange. I wonder how long he will keep growing it. Maybe he can even be Santa in a couple years :)

He stayed in charter the whole day!
He even came to the movies with us as Porter Rockwell. Love it!

Mammoth Cave

Ben and I have been trying to be more adventurous with our weekends....so we started looking up the sights to see in Tennessee...Hey that rhymes! We found a ton of things, but we wanted to do something big... After thinking for a while..Ben remembered he had been to Mammoth Cave as kid, so we thought it would be fun to go since it was close (Hour and a half away in Kentucky... not bad). It had been forever since Ben went... and I have never been to Kentucky! Wahoooo! I was excited to check off another state from my list of places I've been.

Our adventure started off great! The drive there was relaxing and beautiful! The weather wasn't too humid or too cold... there was just a little breeze, which made it perfect!

We got there early to take in the nice weather and make sure we weren't late for our tour. We took the the most common tour, but there is about 10 different Tours to take... which we are planning on doing all of them eventually! Either with family and friends that come to visit or with our own kids.. I'm sure a bit of both.

This is inside the cave! Ben and I were having a blast going through "fat mans misery" and "tall mans agony" Which was a section of the tour where you had to squeeze your way through a path or duck down since the space wasn't very tall. Ben and I felt like real explorers!

This was a great way to be adventurous for the weekend! We would recommend this tour to anyone and we will be going back real soon!! ♥ What's you favorite place to go in the south?? Maybe Ben and I will take a trip there!
